QuanCheng Square (QuanCheng Guang Chong) is where the city "hangs out." Built
only a few years ago, the square features a half-circle of statues representing
great people in Shandong, including Zhu Ge Liang, Mencius and Confucius. (note:
most Chinese haven't a clue who Confucius is, but they know Kong Zi, his Chinese
name.) Underneath the square is the Silver Plaza Shopping Mall, a decently
priced place to shop for groceries, cameras, clothes & food. Around the
square is both the Silver Plaza Sofitel Hotel, as well as the Crowne Plaza
Hotel.
The Crowne Plaza lies closer to Quancheng Lu, Jinan's new shopping & walking
street. Featuring San Lian, Walmart, KFC & dozens of both Western &
Chinese stores, Quancheng Lu is probably Jinan's most expensive street.
Check out some of the alleyways for a glimpse of "Old Jinan."
